GAIA presents VITALISE Project in the framework of the “BILBAO BASQUE OCEAN WEEK”
On the 9th of June Idoia Muñoz, on behalf of Cluster GAIA, had the opportunity to present during the “BILBAO BASQUE OCEAN WEEK” the Ozean Living Lab as an ecosystem for the well-being of the citizens, and more specifically the activities that are being organized within VITALISE Project.
Idoia explained how sustainable territories, and in Ozean Living Lab’s case the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, can contribute to improving people’s well-being by incorporating within the definition of “sustainability” not only environmental, economic and social criteria, but also well-being of the population. In this new incorporation, the environment, art and culture also
play an essential role (the fifth helix).
The New European Bauhaus is the European framework initiative to design future ways of life, located at the crossroads between art, culture, social inclusion, science and technology. The cultural and creative sectors have the potential to play an important role within the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus by raising awareness, starting the debate on climate change and ecology and prototyping solutions together with civil society and the economy.
